Gander Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 30, 2026

Gander is an Android call-screening app that lets only the people you choose ring your phone. This policy explains what the app accesses, where that information lives, and what we do — and don't — do with it.

The short version: Gander keeps everything on your device. It has no servers, requests no internet access, and collects nothing about you.

Who we are

Gander is developed by Bryce Richards. You can reach us at getgander.app@gmail.com.

What Gander accesses, and why

To screen calls, Gander uses the following, entirely on your device:

Gander records its own screening decisions (the caller's number, the time, and whether the call rang) in a log so it can show you recent activity and your allow list. This log lives only on your device.

What we collect: nothing

Gander has no backend servers and does not request internet access, so it cannot and does not transmit your data anywhere. We do not collect, sell, share, or analyze your information. There is no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking in the app.

Where your data lives

All app data — your allow list, screening history, and settings — is stored in Gander's private storage on your device. Gander disables Android's cloud backup for its own data, so it is never copied to Google or anywhere else. When you uninstall Gander, that data is permanently gone — deleting the app deletes your data.

Sharing

We do not share your data with anyone, because we never receive it in the first place.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling Gander permanently removes all of its data from your device. You can also clear it at any time via Android Settings → Apps → Gander → Storage.

Children

Gander is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone.
